Magnetic love
Love isn’t content with being “close enough”. It seeks direct connection. When two people truly love each other, persistence isn’t desperation; it’s devotion.
In today’s digital world, attention issues and relationship struggles are more common than ever. Whether it’s missing deadlines or feeling disconnected from a partner, the root often lies in emotional overload, shame, loneliness, and a culture that values productivity over presence.
These aren’t problems a worksheet or AI can fix. They require a human relationship built on safety, reflection, and genuine connection. Shame softens when met with curiosity, and loneliness begins to ease when our pain is truly seen.
MODERN WELLNESS, DEEPER INSIGHt.
Hi, I’m Dr. Schapiro, a licensed Clinical psychologist and Certified Sex Therapist in New York. My work bridges two specialties: Neuropsychological Assessment and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.
For some, that means pinpointing learning challenges like ADHD. For others, it’s creating space to explore intimacy, identity, or attachment without shame or pressure to have it all figured out.
I’m one of the few psychologists offering Yiddish-language testing. Beyond testing, my therapy practice integrates gender-affirming care, religious and sexual health, and a commitment to helping you untangle what feels unclear.
MODERN WELLNESS
I believe in creating a space where it’s safe to face emotions you’ve learned to avoid. Because when you can feel something fully, in the presence of someone who can hold it all with you, it becomes possible to carry that confidence into the rest of your life.
Only if you’re tired of hiding how much you’re holding and want to move forward, but first need to feel seen. Shame and loneliness often sit at the heart of your struggle, and those feelings don’t shift through self-help books or digital tools alone. I’m here to walk with you through the parts of yourself that are asking to be understood.
I do not accept insurance directly. However, some clients are able to receive out-of-network reimbursement through Superbill; however, there is no guarantee of this.
We’ll meet you where you are, and help you move forward with clarity.
Ready to take the next step? Let’s schedule a time to talk.
Love isn’t content with being “close enough”. It seeks direct connection. When two people truly love each other, persistence isn’t desperation; it’s devotion.
Interpersonal Psychotherapy helps you see how past relationships shape your present, while Mentalization-Based Therapy builds curiosity about others’ perspectives. Together, they open the door to more balanced thinking, deeper connection, and emotional healing.
A strong sense of self is the foundation for true intimacy. Without it, closeness can feel like engulfment and making connection a threat instead of a gift.
